A Patient’s Story
Getting a gynecomastia patient’s surgery experience is much better than reading information on the internet. Researching the internet is great, and there is a plethora of information available. However, nothing beats hearing first hand from a patient who has had male breast reduction surgery.
Miguel Delgado, M.D.'s Gynecomastia Patient
Dr. Miguel Delgado, M.D. has an out of town gynecomastia patient that did just that, he decided to record his experience by video. This patient, who we will refer to as Dave, was kind enough to let his fellow male suffers know exactly how he felt as it happened. The video starts as he is traveling by car to his hotel. Dave states that he is quite nervous but is also very excited to have finally made the decision to get rid of his female type breasts.
Dave shows in his video, his very comfortable hotel room at the Novato Oaks Inn, which is very close to Dr. Delgado’s “Gynecomastia Surgery Center of Excellence!” Novato Oaks Inn caters to Dr. Delgado’s patients and even offers them transportation to the surgery center. Displayed on Dave’s coffee table, are the different pills he is taking, and he explains what they are for. First, he shows his VitaMedica vitamins and supplements. VitaMedica is very high quality vitamins and includes a homeopathic supplement for faster healing with Arnica Montana and Bromeliad. In addition to VitaMedica, Dr. Delgado prescribes an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and pain medication for after surgery. Most gynecomastia patients find they only need pain medication for a couple of days.
As Dave is waiting to be notified that it is time for him to check in at the surgery center, it is obvious he is getting more anxious. However, he states that his anxiety is related to being hungry more than nervous about his upcoming surgery! All patients that undergo surgery with general anesthesia must not eat or drink for several hours before surgery.
Dave Arrives for Gynecomastia Surgery.
As Dave arrives at the surgery center, he is made comfortable by the staff as he goes through his preoperative work up. Next, we see Dave arrive at the office for his first follow-up visit three days later to get his drains removed. Dave is another extremely satisfied patient stating that he is so glad he finally got his surgery, and now he is “ready to live life!”
